For some time now, popular musician Iyanya has been dogged with rumours that he has left the Don Jazzy led record label Mavin Records less than a year after he officially joined their ranks.
Asked time and time again to confirm the rumours, neither Iyanya nor Don Jazzy seemed willing to talk about the said split –until now.
While speaking in a recent interview, Iyanyarevealed that he is signed solely to Temple Music, hereby confirming his exit from Mavin Records. He however insisted that heremains a Mavin for life.
“I’m now signed to Temple Music but I’m a Mavin for life” he told Beat FM. Asked to expatiate on why he left the label in the firstplace, he said: “It was not a beef. I was thereand it was time to move on
”.He also revealed why there has been a dramatic change in his sound.“I like to try new sounds and I started working with different producers, and writers. The fan base has grown, I have fans here and abroad. Some people like the new sound but some people are stuck in the old sound.
”He also credited Don Jazzy for helping withthe evolution of his music.“Shout out to Don Jazzy. He influenced my new sound.”
