Nigeria is one of the world’s most difficult places to eradicate Polio '' Bill Gates says
Second richest man in the world and Co-founder ofBill and Melinda Gates Foundation,Bill Gates, has described Nigeriaas one of the most difficult countries to eradicate the polio disease. Gates stated this when hespoke at the joint forum of the Common wealth Heads of Government Meeting in West minster yesterday April 17th.
According to the billionaire and philantropist, India, Nigeria and Pakistanhave proven to be the most difficult places to wipe out the disease but that Nigeria has done well by learning some steps from India.
“If you want to do something better, find out who is already doing better than anyone else in the world, and adopt what they are doing, to your own challenges. The Commonwealth is ideal forthis and you have positive outliers in almost every area of expertise, and you meet regularly to learn from one another. Polio eradication is a great example of this. For different reasons, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, are three of the places it has been most difficult to wipe out this disease. But India was declared Polio-free in 2014.The lessons learnt from there have helped Nigeria get to zero cases in 2017. And now Pakistan, which still has few cases, very few, is taking those experiences, particularly at the challenges of dealingwith insecurity, and they have their cases down to the lowest areas ever. So, this success really goes back to the substantial commitments made in partat the Commonwealth meetings. Collectively, Commonwealth nations are experts in far more than just polio eradication.Nobody else is better in the world at education thanSingapore. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have built very high quality primary healthcare systems, staffedprimarily by women healthcare workers.” he said

”According to Miguel, when the housekeeper went to check the recording box where the security camera footage was kept, “she noticed that the recording box was missing and connecting wires were cut.

Nigerians will ease out President Buhari in 2019 - Olu Falae
The National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP),Chief OluFalaehas declared that everything possible will be done to ease outPresident Muhammadu Buhari from power come 2019.
Falae, who spoke in Abeokuta after a consultation meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, said the affairs of Nigeria are greater than the political ambition of anybody. He also stated that the emergence of a good, progressive leadership in2019 was imperative for the sake of Buhari and the country at large.
Falae, who is a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Minister of Finance in the General Ibrahim Babangida military regime, arrived the home of his host at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) about12:30 p.m. The meeting, which lasted for about two hours, had inattendance a former presidential spokesman, Dr. Doyin Okupe; former Ogun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Elder Joju Fadairo; two-time governorship candidate,Prince Gboyega Isiaka and a SDP governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Sina Kawonise, among others.
Falae, who spoke on the outcome, canvassed the need for “all right-thinking Nigerians” to forge a collaboration towards bringing beneficial change in the country in 2019.
He added that it was important for the SDP and the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM) being championed by Obasanjo to work together to effect desired change. He described the Buhari administration as a failure, insisting that the government has refused to carry out its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
“What I am taking away from here is a confirmation on the fact that most Nigerians are united in wanting a change for the better, indoing whatever is possible to ease out President Buhari for his own sake and for the sake of Nigeria,”he said.
“The affairs of Nigeria are greaterthan the political ambition of anybody. So, I came here to exchange views with Baba Obasanjo on the affairs of Nigeria. Once upon a time between 1977 and 1979, I worked with him, he was the military Head of State and I was a Permanent Secretary working with him. And we did many thingsin those days to advance the course of Nigeria and the way things are in Nigeria, I think I should come back to see him, to exchange views with him to see whether we can make any contribution towards the elimination of the threat that we are now facing. I am sure that most, if not all right-thinking Nigerians, would see the need for all of us to work together to ensure that there is a good, beneficial, peaceful and progressive change in Nigeria. A change from massive unemployment which we have now; a change from continuous harassment from killing of people by Fulani herdsmen; a change from the fear and threat of Boko Haram; a change from a situation where farmers are afraid to go to their farms. A change from the riots that are all over the place because of frustration and loss of hope; a change from the present situationof depression and failure and revival of the economy of Nigeria”he said.

Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho threatens MAJOR changes with Paul Pogba in firing line
Mourinho was infuriated by United’s performance in the 1-0 home defeat to WestBrom on Sunday which has jeopardised their hopes of finishing runners-up.
And he will give other players a chance in the rearranged League clash at Bournemouth tomorrow with a warning that Wembley places are up for grabs regardless of status, pricetag or reputation.Asked if he would rotate his squad he said: “Rotating is not the right word.
If I play a player against Bournemouth and the playeris phenomenal, he plays in the semi-final.“So it is not rotating, because rotating looks like a player that plays against Bournemouth is in order to give a rest to somebody who is going to play against Spurs in the semi-final.
“It is an opportunity for some people to play and to try to get a place in the team for Spurs. Some of the guys that played against West Brom don’t have a place in that team [for the Bournemouth game].
What is the criteria for a manager to choose a team? I only know one criteria – it is the way they play. That is the only way I can select players. Or do you want me to go for the price they cost, or their salary, or their beautiful face or… The only way is to go with performance.
”Pogba, who has been in and out of the team this year, was substituted after 56 minutes on Sunday just a week after he had been the two-goal hero in the second-half comeback in the Manchester derby.Asked if he was disappointed with the £89mmidfielder’s performance,Jose Mourinhoadded: “It was not just him. And he had a yellow card so he was in a more difficult position than others.
“When you are playing with only two midfield players you cannot play with one player at risk of not being able to make a foul. You can do it if your team is not losingthe ball but our team was losing the ball so easily with the complication, everything was complicated, so we were losing lots of balls, with turnings and flicks and tricks
.“The midfield players and central defenders are at risk of one touch, one late challenge and they are out, so Paul was out [substituted] because of the yellow card, because of in terms of the way he played hewas not worse than some of the others who were on the pitch for 90 minutes.”Mourinho is unhappy at the lack of consistency in performance levels of his team.
During an up and down season Manchester United have lost to Huddersfield, West Brom and Newcastle as well as Bristol City in the League Cup, and been held to draws by Southampton, Burnley and Leicester, leaving them 16 points adrift of their neighbours and newly-crowned champions Manchester City.
Consistency has nothing to do with age,” he added. “It has to do with personality, it has to do with the way you live for football, what is your priority in your life, what are your ambitions.“It is not to do with age. I met players 30 years old, not consistent at all, and I found boys of 18, 19, 20, real men, real pros. It is not about the age.
”Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Scott McTominay, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones – all on the bench on Sunday – could all start at Bournemouth inMourinho’s big shake-up.
