Kanye West releases new song defending his support for Donald Trump

Kanye West has just released a new song to defend his support of US President Donald Trump.In spite of the backlash he faced from friends and fans for declaring his love and support for Trump, Kanye has refused to back down.

If anything, he has doubled efforts to defend his support for the controversial US President.In a track titled Ye vs. The People feat. TI, Kanye argued with TI about his support for Trump.  The song acts as a political debate between the two rappers. TI represented the people who disagree with Kanye.

He took Kanye to task over his support ofDonald Trump and Kanye defended his decision to support Trump.Defending his position, Kanye says he is ultimately "aligning with love", but T.I. explains that his actions are selfish because of his huge impact on his fans and also that Trump's political agenda stems more from hate than love."You representin' dudes who seem crude and cold-hearted," argues T.I., adding that West is emboldening "white supremacy".

But Kanye stands his ground, insisting that he's "fighting for the people".Alluding to a photo he posted of himself wearing Donald Trump's famous Make America Great Again baseball cap, West raps:"Wearing the hat will show people that we are equal.""You gotta see the vantage point of the people," spits back T.I."What makes you feel equal makes them feel evil."Kanye refused to be swayed during the argument, so they ultimately could only agree to disagree.

In an interview with veteran host, David Letterman on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Jay Z said he had known prior to the conversation that his mother Gloria Carter was a lesbian but that was the first time he was having the conversation with his mother.

Bollywood actor, Salma Khan, sentenced to 5 years inprison for illegal poaching that happened 20 years ago

Superstar Bollywood actor, Salma Khan has been sentenced to five years in prison for illegal poaching.

Khan was found guilty of killing two blackbucks, a type of antelope found in the country, while working on a film in the northwestern Indian state of Rajasthan in 1998.

Prosecutors allege that Khan shotthe animals while out driving withsome of his co-stars. In addition to his prison sentence, he was also fined 10,000 Indian rupees.

The decades-old case came to a close today as the 52-year-old popular actor was sentenced. Foryears, Khan has maintained his innocence in the case and pleadednot guilty. His lawyers said he was carrying an air gun, which couldn't have been used for hunting.

After he was sentenced, Bhawani Singh, a public prosecutor working on the case, told reporters outside the court that Khan can appeal the decision to a higher court. If Khan's appeal is accepted, he could be granted bailor have his sentence suspended.

The other actors involved in the case, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre,Tabu and Neelam Kothari, were charged with abetting a crime but were acquitted Thursday, Singh said.

Khan has had several brushes with the law, including in 2015 when he was found guilty in a deadly hit and run accident and received a five-year prison sentence. A higher court later tossed the conviction, claiming the evidence presented was not sufficient.

APC governors sends message to Oyegun after ending his tenure

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that Chief John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee has ended.

Daily Trust reports that the party however said Oyegun can still seek re-election as chairman of the party.

This resolution was reached after governors on the platform of the party met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, April 4.

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state who is the chairman of the APC governors’ forum said Oyegun can still recontest at theparty’s convention if he wishes.

He said:"Let me correct one impression, the issue of congress and convention does not mean that the previous people who have served the party have done badly.

And it does not mean that they cannot come back or that they cannot re-contest, that is not it."We are simply saying that their tenure has ended and those who wish to re-contest canre-contest and can be elected into our party structure.

So, we are all one as family and we are set to go for 2019 elections in victory."Let me just want to let you know that there is no crisis in the APC at all. And we want to use this opportunity to advise the media operatives to stop spreading rumors of crisis in APC. There is no single crisis in APC.

Shehu said that Buhari deserves a second term in office and will win again if all the former leaders come out and contest against him next year.

London overtakes U.S with high murder rate

ccording to the Sunday Times, 15 people were murdered in London, against 14 in New York. Both cities are very diverse with large populations: London has over 8.7 million residents to New York’s 8.5 million.

  In March, according to the Britishpublication, there had been 22 killings in London versus 21 in New York. A massive decline in crime has helped to transform New York City: In 1990, 2.245 people were murdered. Last year,however, that number dropped nearly 90 percent to 290 murders..

The Sunday Times reports thatFBIdata and crime studies show that since 1800 London has typically had a murder rate per person of between half and a 20th of New York’s. Minister of Solid Minerals and ex-governor, Kayode Fayemi joins Ekiti State guber race

Minister of Solid Minerals,Kayode Fayemi who was defeatedin the 2013 governorship election in Ekiti state is set to contest for the position again on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

 The current Minister of Mines and Steel Development was defeated by incumbentAyo Fayoseof the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).  Fayemi said on Sunday that he will contest the July 14 gubernatorial election.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the minister made his ambition known at a news conference at his Isan-Ekiti country home in Oye Local Government Area of the state. Fayemi had hosted leaders and scores of members of the party from all the 16 Local Government Areas and the 177 Wards of the state.

 He said he was driven by his past records of positive achievements,especially for workers, retirees and pensioners while in office in the state.  He explained that his decision to seek re-election was to deliver the state from incompetent and dubious hands and take her to where it is supposed to be.

The former governor becomes the 35th person to formally indicate interest in the governorship poll in the APC alone, aside the dozen others whose campaign posters and billboards are already out on the streets without formal declaration. Fayemi said he would formally submit his letter of intent to the state secretariat of the APC as soon as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lifts ban on campaigns on April 15.

  On the issue of a White Paper, indicting him for corruption and consequently banned him from seeking public office for 10 years,Fayemi said he was not bothered. He declared that the said White Paper cannot stop his ambition, describing the document as final result of several months of political witch-hunt launched against him by the Ayo Fayose-led administration that cannot stand the test of time.

“Regardless of whatever anybody may think, I know I am eminently qualified to contest the election, ifI am not qualified, I would never have come to tell you I want to contest. Most of the negative things Fayose and his government said or alleged of mewere deliberately concocted out of malice to either malign my character or score cheap political goal; but the truth will always prevail. Same goes for themanipulated debt profile of the state which was a clear case of exaggeration and distortions. Canyou imagine, Fayose said he issued White Paper banning me from holding public office, but today, I am giving him red card. By the end of the gubernatorial poll exercise, we will know who is right between the two of us,”hesaid.

The Minister vowed to dislodge Fayose and his deputy in the poll if picked at the May 5, 2018 gubernatorial primary of the party in Ado Ekiti. He advised other aspirants against divisive tendencies by their followers, stressing that whoever that eventually emerged from the coming primary must be embraced by all since the national secretariat of the party had promised that the whole exercise would be open, free and fair.

He promised to use his second-term to correct all past mistakes and improve on the good ones, saying he had learnt his lessons since leaving office about four years ago as governor.  Fayemi, therefore, asked all those he offended while in office as governor to forgive him, while also saying he had forgiven all those who erred against him, in the interest of the party.  He warned Fayose not to attempt to remove or destroy his campaign posters and billboards the way his government was currently doing to some opposition posters.
