Tottenham ace Dele Alli hits back at critics with Chelsea double
The Spurs and England forward has had an erratic season, losing his place in Gareth Southgate’s England side and scoring only six goals before yesterdays clash at Stamford Bridge, but his two strikes in four second half minutes earned his side their first win at Chelsea since February 1990.
Tottenham recovered after Alvaro Morata had given Chelsea the lead, Christian Eriksen levelling on the stroke of half time.
But Alli’s double has now almost certainly condemned the Stamford Bridge side to Europa League football next season.Alli said: “I don’t think I had a point to prove. I just had to get in the team and helpthem and thankfully I did that with two goals.
“I’m not sure if I have answered my critics. People will still be disappointed with the way I played. For me it was just about helping the team as much as I can. I try not to let it affect me.
“Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “It was a fantastic victory for us. We are in a good place to achieve the top four.
“I’m very pleased for Dele. It’s been a tough period for him, but I like his talent, his character. He deserved it. He’s a great talent, only 21 years old, and sometimes we lose the focus on that. Sometimes the expectation is too much.“He needs to show us nothing, because we trust and believe in him.
““Dele is not one to be affected if he plays ordoes not play. He’s so strong. He’s a fighter, very competitive. But we need to help him.
"If he doesn’t play with the national team, heneeds to compete and give his best to try and win again the confidence of his manager. The only way to do that is doing what he did today: scoring the goals and playing like he did.“
An under pressure Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, whose now only have the FACup to aim for, insisted: “I’m not worried about my position.”That pressure showed as he furiously booted a water bottle on the touchline afterAlli’s second goal hit the net.
Conte added: “I’m giving and the players are giving everything. We are working very hard. But in the end, we deserve this season.
This is our value. If we are in this position, we deserve to be in this position.”
I know I work 24 hours for Chelsea. Then the club has to take the decision. But I’m not worried. I have got the maximum out of these players.”

South African president travels economy while Nigeria's president shuts down the entire economic capital when he travels'' BBC reporter, Stephanie Hegarty
South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa, was spotted travelling to Durban in economy class on a Safair flight on Friday morning March 30th. Co-passengers on the flight took photos with the president and shared them on Twitter.
The president's spokesperson, Khusela Diko told newsmen that intermittently, the president will use the mode of transport which is most practical, convenient and cost effective for his duties.
BBC's reporter, Stephanie Hegarty on her twitter handle, threw shade at President Buhari while sharing the report about South African president. See her tweet below
But to be honest, I wouldn't want to be on the same plane with the president of any country. All this eye service is not necessary. The president of any country should fly private period. They have too many political enemies. What if a disgruntled enemy tries to blow up the plane just because the president is in it. This is not sustainable.
Anthony Joshua BEATS Joseph Parker to add third title with unanimous points decision
For the first time in his professional career, Joshua was taken to the judges' scorecards and in truth 118-110, 118-110, 119-109 looked a little kindly on his performance. And it was unlikely to send a strong message across the Atlantic to Deontay Wilder.
But if his boxing didn't, his voice most certainly did.“Just like Dillian said: Wilder let’s go baby. Let’s go!” Joshua told the 78,000 people in the Principality Stadium.
Joshua fighting has become a global event, and that was no clearer than when four separate flags could be seen around the ring. Joshua flew his green-and-white Nigerian colours as well as those of the United Kingdom while Parker had both the New Zealand flag and the Samoan one.
Both men are fiercely proud of their familial heritage as well as the countries of their birth: Joshua bears a tattoo of Africa on his right shoulder while Parker was led out by his two uncles in traditional Samoan dress.
That the Welsh crowd seemed to tolerate, but the two national anthems wore on the patience of a crowd who had been riled up by a spectacular knockout of David Price, who himself had knocked down Alexander Povetkin before the WBA’s No 1 challenger showed his true class in the fifth round.
But once the anthems had finally ended, there were just three men in the ring and it was a predictably cagey start with Joshua looking the work the body and Parker trying to stay out of trouble.
When the Kiwi did get trapped on the ropes,Joshua looked to let fly with combinations while Parker’s escape route was to charge at him. It appeared effective although he was caught by some first upper-cuts in the third round while trying to get out of the neutral corner.
Joshua repeatedly looked to his favoured overhand right in the opening rounds for the big shots, especially as a counter-punch, but Parker’s speed was evident in his evasion.
The cagey nature of the fight continued, aided by referee Giuseppe Quartarone keenness to jump in and call break at the slightest hint of a clinch. Joshua fell foul of that in the seventh round, attempting the land his famous uppercut after the referee’s instruction, which triggered trainer Kevin Barry almost to climb the ropes and take matters into his own hands.
It was Rob McCracken who was fuming a round later though when Quartarone brokea seemingly legal exchange, the type that Joshua would have relished. It led to a farcical moment in the ninth that left both boxers looking to the referee expecting another premature break, only for him to raise his arms as if yo say “what do you want me to do?”.
The Italian seemed to recognise his own mistake and allowed them to work more extensively on the inside and Joshua started to favour the upper-cut more and more, although it was the jab that opened up a small cut on his right eye.
In the closing rounds, neither fighter seemed to fade. It seemed unfair that Joshua won by such a wide margin on the cards, but he had done enough with his jab to win the fight.
Bambam’s eviction looks like April fool to her shocked fans
During thecultural partythat had a live band entertaining the housemates, the first surprise they got was Ebuka joining them for the party. After the party, the BBNaija host followed them to their apartment where Bam Bam’s eviction was announced to the shock of both the housemates and viewers.
Some fans and viewers of the show are attributing the eviction to two things. First they think it is a stunt to celebrate the Aprilfool’s day which falls on April 1. Secondly, they are likening it to Judas Iscariot betrayal of Jesus Christ in the mood of the Easter celebration.
Even Reno Omokri and Daddy Freeze were not left out of the trend. See their tweets below:
