How Fela’s "Double Wahala" Has Changed My Life ––Oritsefemi
“There were times when I had no money to pay studio fees and I would ask my friends for a loan. After paying the studio fee, I would be left without the fare for my transport back home. When I eventually trekked home, there would be no food to eat.
“At that time, the fee was N2, 500. I could remember that August Studio in Apapa charged N5, 000 per session. That was where the Plantashun Boys produced all their albums. But I could not afford to go there. So I used Mighty Mouse studio in Ajegunle where the fee was N2, 500 per session.

“Things have definitely changed. Nowadays, I don’t charge less than N3m to perform at a concert. Sometimes the concerts are funded by multinational companies and we have to tour 20 states. Multiply N3m by 20 states and you will understand what I am saying. The situation has indeed improved.”
Recalling the rough days before he eventually recorded Double Wahala, Oritse Femi told E-Punch:
"I was almost frustrated because my career had over the years failed to generate the desired response from music fans. I prayed to God first for inspiration and basically retraced my steps. It was then it occurred to me that my fans actually want something dynamic for a change. Consequently, because the music we are doing is Afro hip-hop and since Fela was the king of Afro hip hop, I decided to begin by paying homage to him.”

Presidential fact-finding committee visit Chibok
"Members of the committee visited the burnt-out structures of Government Secondary School, where the girls were abducted. The receiving party conducted members of the committee round the grounds of the school. The principal, vice principals, matrons of the hostels, as well as security guards and cooks were earlier debriefed by the committee in Maiduguri. The committee later held an interactive session with the Chibok communities on the school premises. At the meeting, Chairman of the Fact-finding Committee, Brig.-Gen. Ibrahim Sabo (retd.), who spoke with misty eyes, said the committee came, first, to sympathise with the parents and other community members over the havoc of the insurgents. He assured the people of President Goodluck Jonathan’s concern about the fate of the abducted students, saying that the President was having sleepless nights. As we gather here today to see you wailing, by the grace of God, we will also gather here to dance and rejoice with you when the girls regain their freedom" it read
The spokesperson of the committee said the people were elated to see them and asked that their message of hope and belief that the girls would be found be delivered to the President. He said one of the fathers whose 2 daughters are still in Boko haram captivity, Rev. Enoch Mark asked that people should stop politicizing the missing Chibok girls and also stated that the abduction was not a religious thing as both religions were affected by the abduction.

rock blocking a new road being constructed from Karishi to
Apo in the Abuja city centre, was blasted with dynamites to
help free the road and allow construction to continue

We know where Chibok girls are, but won't use force to rescue them - Military
Nigeria's Chief of Defense Staff Air Marshall Alex Badeh
today said that the Nigeria military has been able to locate the
200+ girls abducted in Chibok on April 14th but will not use
force to rescue them because that could put the girls in great
danger as the insurgents could kill them.
He revealed this today while addressing a group of protesters,
the Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness, outside the
Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He said the military knows
what they are doing and should be allowed to continue their
work
"We want our girls back. The military can do it, but
where they are held, can we go with force? The good
news for the girls is that we know where they are but we
can't tell you. Just leave us alone. We are working. We
will bring the girls back" He said
Teacher who defiled minor says one of them made passes at him
A 38 year old nursery school teacher who was arrested
yesterday for defiling three minors says he's not to blame so
much because one of the minors made passes at him. Olayinka
Oluwadare Folarin, (pictured above) took the young girls to the
school toilet where he sexually molested them. Speaking during
his interrogation yesterday, the paedoaphile said a little girl
was the first to make a pass at him
"One of them made advances at me. You know how
children play with you in a funny way. This thing is
beyond me.” he said
Mr Folarin, who has been arrested before for molesting
children, said he believes he's under some demonic attack that
pushes him to commit the act and so shouldn't be judged
"I have been doing this for a long time. I feel terribly bad
each time I did it but I could not stop it. Why don’t you
find a way of helping me. Is this meant to expose me?
Some people should just think and reason with me. The
person who has not sinned before should cast the first
stone. If God did not forsake some people, I know he
would not forsake me. I am a changed person now.”
Continue...
On how he carried out his evil act, Folarin said he would invite
the little girls into the toilet, place them on the wash hand
basin, lubricate their vagina with his hair cream, fondle them
but says he never penetrated them with his manhood, a claim
the police is refuting because medical examination on the little
girls show their hymen was not intact.
"I never penetrated them. I only used my manhood to rub
their private parts. Yes, I used my hair cream to lubricate
my organ to stimulate myself.”.
Oyo state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olabisi
Okuwobi‑Ilobanafor while confirming the incident said:
“The suspect had engaged in multiple defilement and all
the victims said the same thing that he always abused
them twice a week since last year. The third girl was
lured by the suspect to cover his illicit affairs. The third
girl he abused saw a note he wrote to one of the two girls
when she was sweeping the floor and asked what was
happening. The teacher then collected the paper; for fear
of being exposed, he recruited her into the group" she said
Due to the seriousness of his crime, Folarin would be
transferred to the state Police headquarters where further
investigations would be carried out.

The only Nigerian journalist with access to Boko Haram flown home to negotiate with group
Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who previously worked for Daily Trust and Premium Times and
reported extensively on Boko Haram, fled Nigeria to Dubai 2 years ago after being accused of being
a Boko Haram sympathizer. He said he fled after 'his life and that of his family became endangered'
after security agencies began to mistake his in-depth reporting on the terrorist group as evidence of
his closeness to them. He went underground for several weeks before finally fleeing Nigeria. Salkida
was perhaps the only Nigerian journalist/civilian to have access to Boko Haram, and he said at the
time that he'd turned down Boko Haram's many requests for him to publish exclusive interviews and
materials for them.
Anyway according to new reports, the Nigerian government flew him back home a few weeks ago to
negotiate with Boko Haram on their behalf, since he's the only civilian who has allegedly seen Boko
Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and come out alive. He reportedly came back home after the
Nigerian government assured him that he will not be arrested. (See his tweets). Continue...
From UK Daily Mail
One hundred non-combatant, low-level sympathisers were to be freed and the two groups
brought together in a convoy of buses accompanied by a hand-picked go-between, respected
Nigerian journalist Ahmad Salkida.
The plan had been agreed in tortuous negotiations in response to worldwide outrage over a night-
time raid on a school in the town of Chibok on April 14 when the girls were abducted from their
dormitories.
Mr Salkida was born in Borno State, where Boko Haram originated. He has known its leaders
all his life and has unprecedented access.
He has been arrested on several occasions accused of being a Boko Haram sympathiser, and he
fled with his family to Dubai two years ago.
But two weeks ago, he was summoned out of exile by President Jonathan’s aides. He initially
feared he might face arrest, but was then given a letter of indemnity signed by the President
when he flew to Nigeria.
Sources said Mr Salkida was able to travel by taxi to the group’s forest camp to talk to Shekau
two weeks ago. ‘His mission was secretive and dangerous,’ they said.
He is probably the only civilian with access to Shekau. There is trust between them and Salkida
had only one aim – to get the schoolgirls out.
He reported afterwards that the group of girls he saw were alive and well, and being adequately
fed and sheltered. They told him all they wanted was to go home.
Salkida’s mission was complicated by the chaos surrounding government’s pronouncements
about negotiations with the terrorist group.
Shekau has released two shocking videos showing the girls dressed in hijabs and reciting verses
from the Koran.

Fight against terrorism: Military has received N130b from Jan - April - Okonjo-Iweala
While presenting the 2014 budget signed last week by Pres.
Jonathan to newsmen, the Coordinating Minister of the
Economy and Finance Minister revealed that the Nigerian
military has received N130.7billion from the Federal
Government from January to April 2014 and that another N3.8b
has been approved by the president but was still being
processed and will soon be released to the military.
She revealed this to deny claims by the Nigerian military and
other security agencies that poor funding was undermining
ongoing war against terrorism. Defending the huge amount
being spent in the military, Dr Okonjo-Iweala said;
"Defence spending is top in everything. You know that
military establishments need new things to assist them in
their work, and ours will not be different. No budget will
be enough to meet their demands but for now, I think the
sector takes almost a trillion of the budget.”
"The defence budget in 2014 is about N968.127 billion and
we have disbursed N130.7 billion between January and
April 2014, N85.9billion out of what has been disbursed is
for personnel cost.
'There are plans to bring down my government' - President Jonathan
Speaking during the 2014 Democracy Day Interdenominational
Church Service in Abuja yesterday Sunday May 25th, president
Jonathan said there are evil people that are trying to bring down
his government and they are the ones behind the violence in
Nigeria, Punch reports.
"You can imagine if this government had not been facing
these distractions within this period, definitely, we would
have moved farther than this. All these distractions are
planned to bring this government down and since they
failed, terror will also fail.
“We have been witnessing terror attacks for two years
plus, but the Chibok incident has added a major dent on
the security of the country. There is nothing God cannot
do. With your prayers, our girls will be seen by our
security personnel. Terror will not stop this country from
progressing. We know that these terrorists are human and
they are evil men. Definitely, they are among those we
categorise as evil forces.
Forces of evil will never prevail. Forces of darkness will
never prevail. I call on all Nigerians, Christians and non-
Christians who pray, to continue to pray and I believe that
God is on our side. Forces of evil and darkness will never
prevail.” the president said
How to stop Boko Haram problem - Sat Guru Maharaj Ji
Spiritual head of One Love Family, Sat Guru Maharaj Ji says
the best way to tackle the Boko Haram menace in the country
is for us to go back to our traditions and culture. In an
interview with City People this week, Maharaj Ji said the
intervention of the international community was a welcomed
idea and that it would make the fight against Boko Haram a lot
easier because unlike Nigerians, the foreigners know that there
is a Christ of this age, that is him (Maharaj Ji), walking on the
planet and so carrying him along in the fight would bring a stop
to acts of terrorism. Excepts from the interview;
Asked what his take is on the present state of insecurity
in Nigeria, Maharaj Ji said;
"Very simple. Because there is no security challenge per
say, except for the fact that the Northern oligarchy
believes Nigeria belongs to them. They don't believe in
anybody whether you are from the South-South, South-
East or South-West. They feel that Nigeria is an Hausa
country and it is not, we have three regions. We have
major tribes. Yoruba in the South-West, Ibo in the South-
East, then the South-South the Ijaws etc. The North must
accept that Ibo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo...we are
all one Nigeria, that is what is worrying them. Then
again, religion. They should know that God has no
religion. The only religion of God is accepting you the
way you are. If I don't accept you, how will the place be
okay for us?
He also spoke on the assistance being rendered to Nigeria by
the international community, saying there is no shame is asking
for help
"There is no problem asking for what you need if you
don't have it. No country has exclusive power over
improvement in technology. There is no how under the
present conditions Nigerians should fear asking the
Americans for help or the British or the Germans. If
there is going to be any fear, it is still going to be from
the north. At the beginning, our fathers just gave in like
that, but this time, we are not going to give in, no more.
The only solution to Boko Haram menace is for us to go
back to our traditions and culture. This time we have to go
into tradition and culture to find the real ideal power to be
able to sort or mediate and get things sorted out. People
should not be afraid. They are going to assist. They are
going to help and I know that. If I look at it from the
higher point of view, it is time for them too to come and
tap from the special grace from Nigeria because they
unlike our people know that there is a Christ of this age
walking on planet earth and so this situation is for them
to carry him along so that all these up and downs, crises
in all these places could actually stop" he said.
Sat Guru Maharaj Ji also spoke on the Super Eagles going for
the World Cup. He said they can win the World cup only if
they stay away from wearing blue pants throughout the
competition
"I have given my recommendations and I don't know how
Nigerians feel about it. I have told them that they can win
this cup if they stop using blue jersey. They have
accepted but what about blue pants? They should do away
with it. Keshi must inspect all the pants they are wearing.
I am begging them throughout this competition, its a
national affair and not Super Eagles of Lagos but Super
Eagles of Nigeria" he said
Jos blast: Igbo community confirms death of 36 members, 42 injured
The Igbo community in Jos, Plateau State, has confirmed that
36 Igbo men and women residing in Jos were killed in the twin
bomb blast that rocked the city on Tuesday May 20th, with 42
others injured and many others still missing.
The Eze Igbo II of Jos Prof. Joseph Obilom stated this
today Monday May 26th while addressing newsmen at his
Palace in Jos.
"Our people were worst hit by the blast. Most of our
members are traders, who own shops at the terminus
market. Goods worth millions of Naira of our members
were destroyed. We are calling on the Federal and State
government to come to our aid by sending relief materials
to the injured and affected members." he said
22yr old mother sells her one-month old baby for N430k in Onitsha
22 year old Chinelo Huma, (pictured above), who got pregnant
while she was engaged in prostitution, sold her 1-month baby
for N430,000. She, alongside 3 others, have been arrested by
the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Enugu State Police
Command.
Sunday Sun reports;
Three other women, Nkechi Ugochukwu, Maria Asomba
and Esther Obi, who allegedly played roles in the sale of
the baby were traced to Onitsha, Anambra State and
arrested by the police.
Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed
Adamu who disclosed this, told Sunday Sun that Huma got
pregnant while prostituting. Her boyfriend who was not
quite ready to bear the responsibility of fatherhood
rejected Huma’s pregnancy.
Incidentally, Huma already had two children, who were
being cared for by her mother. So having another child
out of wedlock was not an idea that appealed to her one
bit and she decided to relieve herself of the burden of
caring for the baby.
Her words:
“I am a prostitute. When I became pregnant and it was
close to nine months, my boyfriend rejected it. I decided
to sell the baby. When I gave birth on April 13, 2014, one
lady whose name is Maria Asomba, arranged for the baby
to be sold to Mrs. Nkechi Ugochukwu, and she paid N430,
000, but Asomba gave me N150,000.
“When the police arrested Ugochukwu, I told them I
didn’t want the baby again, because I already have two
children and my mother is taking care of them.”
Adamu explained that 43-year-old Ugochukwu had for long
desired to have a child of her own but was unable to conceive.
The arrangement to source the baby was facilitated by one
Esther Obi, who nursed the newborn for two weeks before
handing her over to Ugochukwu.
The Commissioner of Police further revealed that Asomba, 35,
specialized in looking recruiting pregnant ladies that were
willing to dispose of their babies after giving birth.
The police learnt about the ignoble act, Adamu said the Head
of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Supol Gloria Udoka (DSP)
and her team swung into action and traced the suspects to a
jungle in Onitsha, where the one-month old was rescued. The
police team also arrested Ugochukwu.
Giving more insight to the sordid affair, the deputy head of the
State Criminal Investigation Department, Supol Anyai Dennis
(CSP) expressed disgust that even after the baby was
recovered, Huma insisted she didn’t want to keep the baby.
Supol Dennis added that Ugochukwu was reluctant to hand over
the baby as she had led her neighbours to believe she had given
birth and would feel a deeply embarrassed, given that she had
made arrangements for the baby already named as Chinasa.
Expressing her pain at the turn of events, Ugochukwu lamented:
“I have been barren for years and I needed a child. My
husband’s kinsmen have been maligning and making jest
of me because I don’t have a child. I borrowed N430,000
to buy the child; my husband is aware of the baby. The
baby was brought to me on April 17, 2014. When I took
the baby to my compound all my neighbours congratulated
me over the new baby; policemen came and took the baby
from me. I don’t want my money back. I need the baby. I
have named the baby Chinasa and I am already planning
to dedicate her in church.”
That desire now appears to be a pipe dream as the
Commissioner of Police has given a firm assurance that all the
suspects would be charged to court soon for human trafficking.

White, Blonde, Australian Woman.”, describing rapper Izzy Azalea as the new princess of hip hop.
The mag said while Minaj has been 'oddly quiet for months', Iggy's rise in the charts has been swift.
The comment made Nicki feel some type of way and when asked about it on Power 105′s The
Breakfast Club yesterday, Nicki said;
“Listen. All Forbes needs to worry about is my finances and when I’m going to be selling Myx
Fusions for $250 million. That’s all they need to worry about. We rely on hip-hop connoisseurs
and blogs for that kind of information. So we appreciate it, but no thank you.”
