If you're not Beyonce, don't do like Beyonce. Kid Cudi learnt the hard way

On Dec. 13th 2013, Beyonce dropped her fifth studio album Beyoncé at midnight with absolutely no prior promo or warning. The album sold 828,773 copies worldwide in 3 days becoming the fastest selling album in iTunes history.

On February 26th 2014, Kid Cudi decided to pull a Beyonce by dropping his 4th album 'Satellite Flight: The Journey to The Mother Moon' on iTunes with no prior promo and no mainstream support.

Horrifying! Boyfriend watches his girlfriend raped & murdered by neighbour while he chatted with her on Skype

A man witnessed his girlfriend being raped and killed by an intruder in her Toronto apartment via webcam from China .An emotional Xian Chao Meng explained through an interpreter on Friday how a man burst threw the door of the basement studio while he remained on Skype to the victim, 23-year-old Qian 'Necole' Liu,  before the sound of two 'muffled bangs' and then silence.
Moments later a stranger naked from the abdomen down appeared in front of the computer and quickly turned it off.Her naked body was found covered in blood and semen..

Xian Chao Meng was on Skype with his girlfriend Qian Liu when she was murdered

Brian Dickson the murderer was her neighbour and  admitted to police he had met Liu for the first time in the laundry room of their building earlier in the night that she died.

According to Meng, the night before he had been talking to Liu for hours on both Skype and QQ, which is China's version of MSN.
He was on his laptop in Beijing, where it was about noon, while Liu was doing homework in Toronto, where she attended York University and it was about midnight.
The couple had broken up three months earlier but remained friends, catching up every couple of weeks.
Meng told the court he could see Liu, wearing a headset, sitting in front of the computer in her apartment just south of the university campus. Also visible in the frame was the door, to about knee level.
'She said to me that somebody was knocking on the door. She would check,' he said.
Liu rose to answer the light knock, saying something through the door first in English, which Meng couldn't understand.
As Liu opened the door partway to her visitor, Meng caught sight of a man standing in the door frame.
The accused Brain Dickson
The man, his hair mussed in the front, was wearing a half-sleeved dark-colored crewneck T-shirt and loose shorts. After the door was opened, the two had a chat close to the door frame,' Meng told court.
It seemed to Meng that the male asked to see Liu's cellphone.
The jury heard earlier that Liu had been having Wi-Fi issues and had asked other tenants — the building was full of student residents — for help resolving them.
Liu, said Meng, got her phone and handed it to the man.He did some operation on the cellphone.'While the visitor was thus occupied, Liu sat back down at her computer.Meng saw her face in profile as she spoke to the male. The man was in and out of the door frame. It seemed that he was hesitant.'
They appeared to be parting when 'all of a sudden, something abnormal took place. That male tried to force his way in. Liu was trying hard to push the door, not to let him in. She could not prevent him from entering. He wanted to embrace Qian Liu. (She) was all the time pushing at his chest.'
Meng heard Liu say 'No'  in Cantonese.
'Maybe she felt he did not understand. Then she said 'No' in English. But that person did not listen.'
There was a struggle, visible to Meng.
'Qian Lu was pinned.'
Liu fell out of camera range. Then I heard two muffled bangs. From then, I heard no more sound from Qian Liu.'In the silence that followed, Meng said he heard the man breathing heavily and, shortly afterwards, what he thought sounded like furniture being moved.
The light in Liu's room was shut off.Meng thinks he heard what may have been the jingle of keys. The male next appeared directly in front of the computer.
'He was already naked. I could see the part of his body below the abdomen to the knees. He leaned forward to shut off the computer.'

Boy kills brother in Yobe state, removes his eyes, tongue

A boy in Daya Village, Fika LGA of Yobe State, today Monday March 31st allegedly killed his younger brother and removed his tongue and eyes, Premium Times reports
A resident of Daya, Ishmail Daya, said that the younger boy had gone missing three days ago and that while a search was going on in the village, the older brother was found with his brother’s tongue and eyes.
“He killed his younger brother and buried him on his father’s farmland,” Ishmail said.
Both the alleged killer and the victim are believed to be underage. He insisted that there had been no prior quarrel between the siblings.
“There was no fight, he just killed his brother. Though investigation is still going on, but there was no fight,” he said.

The district head and Galadima of Fika, Fika LGA, Garba Daya, confirmed the incident.

“Yes, it actually happened in Daya,” he said, adding that the killer was currently in police custody.

Efforts to reach the Yobe Police command proved futile as the state Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Rufai, did not pick his calls or respond to text messages as at press time.

Brazil worker killed in World Cup stadium fall

A Brazilian construction worker has died after falling 25ft (8m) at the Sao Paulo stadium where the football World Cup is due to start on 12 June.

The man suffered fatal injuries when he fell from a stand while installing temporary seats at the Sao Paulo Arena.

His death is the third fatality at the new stadium. In November, two workers were killed when a crane collapsed.

Brazil's preparations for the World Cup have been marred by accidents and missed deadlines.

A total of eight men have already died working in World Cup stadiums.

Jerome Valcke, head of football governing body Fifa, said on Twitter: "Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a worker at Arena Sao Paulo today. My thoughts and condolences are with his family and colleagues."

'Time flying'

Last week, the Fifa official said there was still work to do at the stadium and added that time was "flying".

Worker Fabio Hamilton da Cruz had been working on the installation of seats on the south side of the Sao Paulo stadium when he fell.

In a statement, the firm Fast Engenharia, that had hired Mr Cruz' employers, WDS Construcoes, said he was still alive when taken to a hospital.

But he died from his injuries hours later.

In February, a Portuguese man was hit by a crane part and died while working at the Arena Amazonia, in Manaus.

He became the fourth person to die in the north Brazilian stadium where England and Italy will start their World Cup campaign.

Another man died in the Mane Garrincha stadium, in the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, in 2012.

In the preparations for the previous World Cup, in South Africa, two workers died.

'I'm a supporter of polygamy; most African men are polygamous in nature' - Jibola Dabo

Nollywood actor Jibola Dabo, who has five children from different women said in a recent interview with TheNetng that he's an ardent supporter of polygamy and believes that most men in Africa are polygamous in nature. Read what he said below and tell us if you agree with him...
"People misunderstands what polygamy means. I am an ardent supporter of polygamy. Every single man, mostly from Africa, is polygamous in nature. We are just deceiving ourselves. Polygamy means when you see a woman you love and desire, you marry her with the consent of your already married wife and bring her home. It's not when you have one wife at home, then you have others scattered in different other places, that is not polygamy. And not when you have three wives and you cannot take care of one, that is an insult to polygamy. There are so many women out there who just want to have a man as an umbrella, but we keep saying one man one woman. Yet the women keep suffering. We all know that we have much more women in this world than men, the ratio is too high.
My father had six wives, my uncle that brought me up had so many wives also. What I am saying is that it is not illegal, we are not in America. Ironically, the white man would have one wife and still keep so many mistresses. If not, there wouldn't have been an English word for concubines. That means it exists in their culture. Which is better, concubines or wives? In the days when polygamy was well respected, diseases were not rampant. It is now that when men hide to do it that strange sexually transmitted diseases have become the order of the day" he said.
"I have only one wife but I have children from more than one woman. And its not because I had mistresses, its because I have lived in various countries, including America, France, Britain etc. I am this person that any woman that comes to me would always want to have something for me. I have had experiences. I was with a woman and years later, a child was brought to me, a child I didn't know when it was conceived". he added

Court orders 37 defected PDP House of Reps members to resign

The 37 PDP House of Representatives members who defected to APC in December 2013 have been ordered to vacate their seats and the House.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja gave the order today while delivering judgment in a suit filed against the defected lawmakers by the PDP. The judge said the lawmakers no longer had any business, morally and legally in the Assembly and so should resign.
"Having perused the arguments of counsel and the constitutional provisions, it is clear and unambiguous that the defendants were sponsored by the PDP and won the election on its platform. It is also the court’s opinion that their tenure has not expired and there is no division in the PDP.
“The defendants are, therefore, not competent to vote or contribute to any proceedings in the House of Representatives. An order of perpetual injunction is, hereby, ordered, restraining them from altering or attempting to change the leadership of the House of Reps,” Justice Ademola said.
In January 2014, PDP instituted a suit against the defected lawmakers who attempted to cause an alteration in the leadership of the House of Representative.

Amnesty international accuses Nigerian army of extra-judicial killings in their fight against Boko Haram

Amnesty International has revealed that Nigerian Army tacking the Boko Haram insurgency has killed over 1,500 people since January 2014 as against an earlier figure of about 1,000 .They say most of those killed were young men and unarmed freed detainees.

They say  600 people were killed on 14 March, after the attack on Giwa Barracks by Boko Haram gunmen, done to free their members. Other detainees were also freed, but most of them were later rounded up and killed by Nigerian soldiers.
According to Netsanet Belay.
“The scale of atrocities carried out by Boko Haram is truly shocking creating a climate of fear and insecurity. But this cannot be used to justify the brutality of the response that is clearly being meted out by the Nigerian security forces,”

Amongst the testimony gathered by Amnesty International were the voices of witnesses who described what happened when the military found 56 of those who had escaped from the Giwa barracks.
“The former detainees were in a classroom. They started screaming ‘we are not Boko Haram. We are detainees!’ My neighbours and I saw the soldiers take the men to a place called ‘no man’s land,’ behind the University of Maiduguri. We watched as the soldiers opened fire killing all 56. They were killed in front of us. All of them.”
Other eyewitnesses in Jiddari Polo, also in Maiduguri, described how members of the “Civilian Joint Task Force” rounded up freed prisoners and handed them to soldiers. More than 190 people were executed, many of whom were too frail to run.
“I saw the soldiers asking the people to lie on the ground. There was a small argument between the soldiers and the civilian JTF. The soldiers made some calls and a few minutes later they started shooting the people on the ground. I counted 198 people killed at that checkpoint.”

'Facts About The New Lagos State Smoking In Public Places Law'

Article sent in by Choices Nigeria.
There have been different views on the recently passed smoking law since it was signed by the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola on 17th of February 2014.
We have now obtained a copy of the law and are surprised to read that contrary to what some people think, the law only becomes effective on the 17th of August 2014, which is six months after the Governor signed. This means that even the police that have been harassing smokers are not aware of this. Incredibly, the law also allows for smoking in open places such as on the streets, roads and highways as wells as in 10% of hotels, bars, night clubs and tertiary institutions. It even goes further to state that the law will be enforced by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), meanwhile all manner of people have been harassing smokers, even LATSMA and Boys Scout.. Can our government ensure that the public are well informed about

A team of policemen from the Ijeshatedo Police Station which had responded to the call by members of the Neighbourhood Watch, had a hectic time dispersing passers-by from taking snap shots of the body and they also declined comment about the incident. A member of the Neighbourhood Watch, Mr Badmus Azeez Adeniyi, who spoke on the incident said, “There is no clue yet on what could have happened to the lady. But it is like a case of murder that took place somewhere.

Apparently, the perpetrators had waited for the cover of the dark to drop her corpse here. Nobody can say exactly when they did this but it surely cannot be anything around 10pm and 11pm last night because we still passed through this area when we were on surveillance watch last night.” When contacted, the LASU Public Relations Officer, Mr Sutton Kayode, said he was going to check if Onwuli was a student of the institution.

'I am working on my divorce' - Joseph Benjamin

Actor Joseph Benjamin was a guest on Rubbin Minds yesterday Sunday March 30th where he opened up about his divorce. When the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, asked him if he was finally divorced, the father of two said he was 'working on it.'

Ebuka also took him up on rumours of violence and infidelity being the reason for his separation, Benjamin said it wasn't true. What he said below...
"A lot was misconstrued and I will not hold anyone responsible for it because everyone is entitled to their opinion and for me I believe that when you embark on a journey like that, it is something that, it requires the two people involved to have a certain form of understanding. Let me go a bit spiritual with you here, the Bible says can two work if they do not agree? So there should be some form of agreement. You guys should have this certain joint that kind of links you up together and if to an extent its not there and one feels that there is a need for you to like maybe, move on, lets be matured about this, let things go in a very calm and subtle manner. So that's basically it. I would say that (this is on a bid to being very particular of what I say) because that is how it was misconstrued. So for me that is what informed the decision and I would say because I am on national television that there was no form of violence. There was no report of infidelity. She is an amazing person, I give her that credit, I would always say that because I am not one who would talk down any human being" he said.

President Jonathan Blasts Nigerian Governors Over Boko Haram Insurgency

While Speaking yesterday at the North East zone of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) rally held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, President Goodluck Jonathan maintained that insurgency and crimes such as kidnapping and armed robbery were gaining ground because governors of the affected states were failing in their responsibilities.

He said the security challenges in the North-east was the handiwork of illiterate youths who lost hope due to bad leadership of their state governors who failed to send them to school.
“State governors that are saying it is bad leadership should be ashamed. I was a deputy governor and governor where I spent eight years at the state. The first commercial kidnapping took place in Bayelsa. Seventy per cent of the state are swamps; a governor will come and spread issue that it is because of bad leadership. Bad leadership from who? We had security challenges in Bayelsa when I was deputy governor and governor and we handled them. It is not the duty of Federal Government to send children to primary and secondary schools but it is the constitutional right of the Federal Government to make sure children attend tertiary institutions, which we have done.

Mum allegedly killed 4yr old son because she thought he was gay

25 year old Jessica Dutro (pictured below) has been arrested and charged with murder by abuse and second degree assault after allegedly subjecting her 4 year old son, Zachary Dutro-Boggess, to deadly beatings because she thought he was gay.

Prosecutors say Zachary died on August 16th, 2012 of blunt-force trauma to his abdomen and a delay in medical treatment. According to the Associated Press, few weeks before the boy was found with abdominal injuries at a temporary homeless shelter, his mum sent a Facebook message to her boyfriend, 24 year old Brian Canady, telling him that she believed Zachary was going to be gay, and suggested he "work on" her son: “He walks and talks like it. Ugh.” Jessica wrote.

Canady (pictured above) was also arrested in connection with the boy's death. He pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, and second-degree assault, after admitting to kicking Zachary in the abdomen while wearing shoes.

They are both on trial in Washington County Circuit Court right now

‘MS didn’t kill her, ignorance did’, Yemisi Ilo blames Zara’s family for her death

Yemisi Ilo says she has also been battling Multiple Sclerosis for nearly 10 years and that Zara’s situation shouldn’t have deteriorated to the point of death. Photo: Facebook/Yemisi Ilo

I also have MS and I am currently in Singapore – where by His grace I will finally halt the progression and hopefully and prayerfully reverse some if not all disability.

I spoke to Zara on Tuesday. She said she was being given ‘Agbo’ to drink by her family and that it was killing her. Those were her exact words. I told her to NOT drink it. With an already compromised immune system – Agbo is bullshit. It is poison. MS is not malaria.

I gave Zara clear details of exactly what she needed to do to try to get well. It isn’t easy AT ALL – I should know but unfortunately for her, she was surrounded by very ignorant people at the end who felt that they knew best.

I first heard of Zara when I read about her on Linda Ikeji‘s blog a year ago. I got in touch with her immediately and started a Skype friendship. I was in London and she was in the States (US). We spoke regularly. When I went back to Lagos, we would WhatsApp and I would call her. When she came to Nigeria in October last year, I went to see her and she was surprised that she could move better than me! I organized the Battabox interview (which we did at my parents house). She said she didn’t want to live with her mum in the States – yet she had no one to look after her there apart from her mum. She needed someone. She even wanted to come and stay with me, but I am married with small children and my own MS issues were already enough for one house.

[box type="shadow" ]READ: Zara’s family says no one has paid them condolence visit[/box]

I am so pissed off, so angry, so fucking sad, teary and frustrated. If I had been in Nigeria, I would have gone to pick her up on Tuesday when I spoke to her.  She was so desperate to leave Ogba. She said she had a return ticket to America and would try to leave ASAP. I gave her my neurologist’s number so she could get some steroids to help her get over the horrible relapse she was having. Also to get her to explain the condition to Zara’s family so they would realize that this was not an ‘Agbo’ matter.

I have had MS for nearly 10 years. My walking has deteriorated and I am currently alternating between a walker and a wheelchair. Zara was worried that she wouldn’t get married and have kids – I told her that I had 4 kids and was happily married and continued to work and that there was hope.

I have always been vocal about MS and even appeared on a ‘Moments with Mo’ episode talking about it. There are many Nigerians with MS – I know a few but they want to keep quiet. Their families are embarrassed. Why? I don’t know? It can happen to anyone at any time.

Granted, I am extremely fortunate to have the strength of character and a loving and supportive and enlightened family to deal with this HORRIBLE condition that has led to this opportunity for me to undergo Hemapioetic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) – Google it. It has taken donations from over 100 people to do this. It costs over $150k (N24,727,501). I told Zara that since she was a US citizen, she could get on a trial at the University of Chicago under Dr. Burt for free.

I just want people to know that MS didn’t kill Zara – ignorance did. As well as our fatalistic attitude in Nigeria where everyone prays and no one takes action.

Thanks

Bless

Yemisi.

46 year old Nigerian lesbian asylum seeker in the UK, Adejumoke Apata (pictured above), says she risks a death sentence if she is deported to Nigeria.

Ms Apata says she fled Nigeria in 2004 and claims that her girlfriend who refused to go with her, was brutally murdered by vigilantes in 2012.

Before she left Nigeria, Adejumoke said she was subjected to homophobic torture, persecution and a brutal arrest after she was exposed as a gay woman. She claims she was also sentenced to death by stoning for being a lesbian. Continue...

Adejumoke, who is facing deportation, doesn't want to be deported and has started a campaign aimed at persuading people to sign a petition against her deportation.
"Returning to Nigeria is not an option for me, because as well as a death sentence hanging over me, I will face 14 years in prison due to the anti-gay law that was passed by the Nigerian Government in January 2014. I want to remain in the UK in order to contribute positively to the society and support my girlfriend, who I am now engaged to," Adejumoke said in a YouTube video.

Shocking-The old woman who was rescued from Ibadan horror den is missing again!

Remember this old woman whose picture was first published as a survivor of the Ibadan horror den? Sadly, she is missing again

Nigerian Tribune reports
For the family of Mrs Cecilia Obaikhena, it was joy turned sour as their matriarch, who was one of the inmates of the kidnappers’ den released last Saturday, has gone missing again.
When they got the news of the discovery of a kidnappers’ den in Ibadan and saw the picture of their long-lost mother and grandmother adorning the cover of the Sunday Tribune, they were elated. Pronto Victor and Vivian, son and granddaughter respectively, of Cecilia Obaikhena, who was one of the inmates freed from the den, rushed down to Ibadan from their Lagos base to take their matriarch back home.
They got to Ibadan on Tuesday and headed for Soka area where the den was discovered. They searched everywhere for their matriarch but she was no where to be found.

They were advised to go to the State Hospital at Yemetu, where some of the inmates were taken. So, they headed for the place but it was futile because Mrs Cecilia Obaikhena was not among the patients in the hospital.
Determined to see their mother/grandmother, they toured all the police stations in the vicinity clutching the pictures of their matriarch as well as a copy of the Sunday Tribune but tried as much as they did, they could not locate Mrs Obaikhena.
So, they headed for the Tribune House at Imalefalafia to see if they could find help.
Explaining how the woman disappeared, Vivian said the old woman in 2008, went to the market where she was residing in Iruekpen, Edo State, but she never returned home. She said they went searching for her at police stations, and made announcements on media houses, including NTA Iruekpen, but their efforts brought no success.
“Since 2008, we have been looking for her,” Vivian said.

Narrating how they got to know about the kidnappers’ den, Vivian said,
“On Monday, I was browsing with my phone when I came across the Ibadan House of Horror story on a blog. Immediately, I saw the picture of one of the victims and I recognized her as our long lost granny, then I left for Ibadan and came in company with my uncle who is her son.”
Voicing their frustration at the futility of their effort to find the woman, Vivian said, she noted through the by-line that the photograph of the old woman was exclusive to the Nigerian Tribune, hence their visit to the Tribune House to make enquiries as to the exact time and location of the woman, when the photograph was taken.
“How could a woman who was found on Saturday have disappeared almost without a trace on Tuesday?” Vivian lamented.
Our photographer, who was at the site to cover the discovery on Saturday, said around 8.00pm he happened on the scene where the old woman in question, was being trailed by a small crowd as she was slowly walking away from the den while regaling the crowd with the story of how she was abducted in Edo State in 2008.
“It was her story that made me to pause to take her picture. As I left the woman and the crowd, I heard some people express their concern about how the woman would cope knowing no one in Ibadan as she continued her slow walk into the dark night.”
So, for the relations of Cecilia Obhaghene, the search for their matriarch continues

BEY Z is one of the world’s richest and most talented couples on the planet. Their net worth is an estimated $775 million.

With that kind dough why should their spending be anything but limitless? When it comes to gifts, Beyoncé and Jay Z only buy the best of the best. By the time their daughter Blue Ivy was 2 days old, she had already amassed a collection of tricked out baby gear worth $1.5 million, complete with a $600,000 rocking horse!

For Beyoncé’s 25th birthday, Jay got her a vintage Rolls Royce for a cool million bucks. Bey returned the favour and got her man a $2 million Bugatti Veyron Sport, one of the most expensive cars in the world.

Beyoncé and Jay Z have exceptional taste and always look amazing from head to toe. But when you have their star power and millions at your disposal, it’s all in a day’s work. From Beyoncé’s wig collection worth $1 million and a $1000 manicure, to Jay’s $2500 custom sneakers covered in nine animals skins and $4000 custom Tom Ford suits, these two truly are style icons.

When the king and queen of hip-hop need some R&R, they head to some of the most luxurious locales in the world. Dropping $20,000 a night for a Penthouse in Paris and $400,000 for a posh Hamptons mansion is as easy for these two as it is for someone else top pick up a $5 latte at Starbucks!

Together, Beyoncé and Jay Z are the highest earning celeb couple in the country and they have no qualms about spending a ton of cash on whatever the hell they want!

Fans mad as Davido’s $40 New York show flops!

Laughing to the bank, Davido looks like he’s cashed out. Photo: Instagram

Controversy and Davido seem inseparable. The artiste, who is currently in New York as part of a US tour, has been accused by his many fans of cheating them right there in the Big Apple.

The pop artiste’s first official US tour seems to have started on a bad note. Davido held a live concert in New York last night but hours later, a huge number of his fans took to social media to berate the Pop singer for his ‘bad behaviour’.

According to concert goers, the headline artiste (Davido) was billed to hit the stage at about midnight but did not do so until 3AM. Fans had gotten irritated at this point, knowing that the show was to end in an hour. Davido is also said to not have performed his hit song ‘Skelewu’.

Fans who paid for regular tickets were charged $40 while VIP tickets sold for $75. The show (and US concert) was put together by Big A Entertainment.

Knowing fully well what had happened, Davido tried to correct the ‘mishap’ by tendering an apology on Twitter but it seemed too late as fans responded, blasting him.

‘Damn My NY was too packed police shut it down!! The love and support that came out was overwhelming!!! I will be back!’ @iam_Davido: ‘Feel so bad!!!!!!! Not my fault but I take the blame!!! I’m sorry!! Luv u guys 4real!! NYC!!!!!!Really sad!‘, Davido wrote.

‘YOUR SHOW WAS FUCKIN STUPID AND LAME. YOU BETTER REFUND PEOPLE. I hope they call POLICE on you. You came on stage like 3:20am. Better refund people mtf,’ Instagram user @kingarthur903 replied.

‘Never again, a big flop! Disappointment! People smoking weed, skelewu wasn’t even performed, you came way very late when people were tired & frustrated, the cops shut it down, so disorganize. You should never come back to NYC to perform anymore because now nobody cares, & that’s a fact. Waste of makeup, energy, gas, money, everything.get your promoters right boo! (sic),’ user @africanqueen247 wrote.

‘u knew what you were doing when u planned to perform for 15 mins only! Don’t blame the police or the promoters! Stay humble or you will lose all of your fans!’ @goodjourney89 advised.

‘Fraud Artist! Next time don’t come on stage 30 mins befor the venue is about to close! And have your team perform instead! We ain’t pay to watch ur team! African artist gotta do better! Refund our fucking money and stop showing off our money on here! Waste of time smh,‘ @ceciiif wrote.

It has also been reported that New York Police Department shutdown the concert right before it ended.

Efforts to reach Davido have remained futile as his manager had not responded to our emails as at the time of filing this report. Big A Entertainment had also not responded to our inquiries.

"When I Die" By Charly Boy

I was born in 1950’s.
Before I was born, the universe came into existence with a big bang about some 4.6 billion years ago, our solar system formed. Life arose and lots of animals evolved. Somewhere on the continent of Africa, modern man arose, and spread across the other continents. Civilization blossomed, along with the domestication of animals, tools, technology, and information; I was oblivious to all of these events.

I didn’t exist yet, but everything that ever happened in the universe, happened – and it went by in an instant.  That “instant” spanned about 13 billion years.  It could have been even longer, it doesn’t matter, because to you and I, it was still an instant.  We have the luxury of science and history to tell us of our universal past, but without that, the only recollection we could possibly have of anything is what we actually lived through.

What’s the point?
The point is that when you die, it’s likely the same thing. The only difference is that there is no “instant” at the other end for you to suddenly become conscious, like birth.  Instead, time and events like the ones listed above will happen on their own, without you, just like they did before you were born.   Time will go on until the end of the Universe, if there is, but you won’t be able to know it
.
Should we be afraid of death?
I will freely admit that death itself does not scare me.  The physical act of dying terrifies me.  I don’t want it to be painful, and I don’t want it to be drawn out.  I want peace and tranquility, like any other normal person would want. Though I am not afraid of death, the thought of it saddens me.  I love life so much that it crushes me to think that I wouldn’t be able to spend time with family and friends.  Of course, losing a loved one is equally painful for the same reasons. It also saddens me that I wouldn’t witness the next great advances in technology.  Imagine the people of the 1800’s; they could never have imagined BlackBerry, IPad, Facebook, Skype, Email etc. I’m in my 60's now; can you imagine what kind of technology the human race will discover in the next century?

Now to the Koko of this matter, this is not to rattle your belief in Heaven or Hell and life after death, but just to make you think. After all what do I know, even as I write this I maybe so high, but it is my opinion and not yours.

It would be reassuring to know that there was some sort of life after death, but simply put, there is no real evidence for this, no matter which religion is scrutinized.  In fact, it seems that people’s life after death experience is biological in nature.  After all, they can be simulated with drugs and put in a lab.  It also seems very anthropocentric to believe that we are so special that we deserve an afterlife.  There are all sorts of problems with life after death – based on religious views and different versions of “heaven” and “hell”;  the concept of the soul; the age of the person (for example: do one day old infants get life after death?); animals (do they get to experience it too?)

Some people would be asking by now, which one be all this grammar sef?
We have got one life to live on this planet, just one.  You should do everything in your power to enjoy it to the fullest, no slacking my guy and to make sure that everyone and everything around you has the same opportunity. So, what happens when you die? - I think the answer is mundane and simple, Nothing!
